On Saturday (6/17) the Coalition held our first monthly YOUTH DAY AT THE PARK! Our youth days at the park are monthly spaces for art making and play all in the name of abolition. This month we hung out at Vista Hermosa Park and cut stencils to design tee shirts! Stay tuned for our next youth day at the park on Saturday July 15th!
On Sunday (6/18), the Coalition was at Leimert Park celebrating Juneteenth. We spoke to local community members about police helicopter surveillance and shared UCLA’s Carceral Ecologies Lab’s preliminary findings on police helicopter patrols in Black neighborhoods.
