Join us for our monthly webinar for the Fight Against the War on Youth, co-organized by Stop LAPD Spying Coalition and Palestinian Youth Movement. We will be breaking down and exposing the racist history of nonprofits that have been collaborating with the state on counterterrorism and counterinsurgency programs. We will also be collectively analyzing the newest grants from the Department of Homeland Security for more policing of our communities and creating public records requests to uncover and build power to fight for the abolition of surveillance programs that target youth as violent extremists. Finally, we will be marking the release of the coalition’s groundbreaking report “Automating Banishment” about the role of the LAPD in ongoing land theft and conquest through data-driven policing. We will be discussing sections of the report that discuss how professional reformers and nonprofits work with the police on counterinsurgency, providing cover for the targeting of youth.
