Join us at Stop LAPD Spying Coalition over Zoom for a working meeting and Know Your Fight Webinar Series Part 70 on Tuesday August 17th at 6 PM.
For our monthly third Tuesday webinar, we will be looking at the implementation of LA Municipal Code 41.18, which will be used to criminalize not just our unhoused neighbors but street vendors, sex workers, protestors, youth, and the community at large. We will be diving into LAPD’s Echo Park After-Action Report and discussing how police used infiltration, surveillance, data-mining to prepare for the mass eviction of the lake residents. LAPD’s occupation of Echo Park was a test run for how the city plans to weaponize institutions to criminalize anyone they deem a “nuisance.” We will be planning our fight against LAPD’s role in displacement and working on a community response to LAPD’s report.
