Stop the Militarization of Police!

The expansion of militarized police forces has serious consequences.  Recently, policing has revealed its unchained barbarity once again.  From the death of a defenseless Mike Brown in Missouri, or the strangled Eric Garner in New York City, or here in LA, where an unarmed black youth was executed lying face down on the concrete.  Across the US, communities are waking up to this indefensible status-quo.  And as our communities rise up in the face of these injustices, police forces don’t hesitate to respond with unrelenting brutality.

These stories are the culmination of police forces continuously bathed in military rhetoric and dressed increasingly in military equipment.  The LAPD’s recent acquisition of drones is a reminder that police forces nationally are hungry to expand the war at home with technologies which sow terror abroad.
