11/25:
On Tuesday, the Coalition disrupted the Board of Police Commissioners meeting where we continued to expose them for their lies about real time crime centers, and their bloated budgets for Community “Safety” Partnerships. That evening, we held our monthly Data Driven Policing meeting where we read sections of our report “Automating Banishment” which talks about land grabs and displacement in Skid Row, from the BIDs to LAPD. After that, we screened “We Love Being Lakota” and were able to make connections between the way land is stolen and policed from Palestine, to Skid Row, to the entirety of Turtle Island.
11/26
Wednesday was LACAN’s Human and Civil Rights meeting. We met at the Umeya, and debriefed the violent sweep that happened last week on Crocker between 5th and 6th street. Despite LA San and LAPD’s immense violence, community care and mutual aid meant that folks are still here! Still surviving, thriving, and cooking for each other!
11/28:
On Friday, we went to Boycott Home Depot’s rally in Torrance where we continue to demand an end to the raids, and an end to Home Deport’s complicity/active support of the abductions of our community members.
11/29:
The Coalition attended the Palestinian Youth Movement’s march and rally on Saturday, where we marched with hundreds of others in our demand for a complete arms embargo as one step closer to a Free Palestine and an end to the zionist entity.
