06/30:
On Monday, we started our High School Summer Youth Internship where we started to map together our fight!
07/01:
The Coalition attended the Board of Police Commissioners meeting on Tuesday where we continued to expose the use of technology like Automatic License Plate Readers, real time crime centers, drones, and other surveillance weaponry. That evening, we held our monthly Gender and Sexuality working group where we had a conversation about the introduction of drugs and alcohol throughout history to neutralize and disrupt community building and insurgency. We also did an incredible training with Sidewalk Project about the basics of using Naloxone/Narcan, basic first aid, and support for folks who are overamping.
07/03:
On Wednesday, among a slew of working group meetings, our incredible interns worked on the roof with LA CAN’s Food and Justice Organizer Todd where we ate delicious tomatoes and other produce!
07/04:
On Friday, we supported the CSDC via the Farce of July Fundraiser and got the chance to speak with General Dogon of LACAN with our interns about the history of Skid Row, the city’s bullshit, and the ongoing fight and building of power!
07/05:
The Coalition attended the CSDC meeting where we were able to connect with folks as our fight continues with daily patrols and rapid response!
