The National Security Police State always uses crisis like this to expand oppression, to expand surveillance, accumulate new weapons, push boundaries, and justify its violence. Join us at Stop LAPD Spying Coalition over Zoom for a working meeting and Know Your Fight Webinar Series Part 86 on Tuesday January 18th at 6 PM.

Join us for our Third Tuesday of the month general meeting. This month we will be discussing the creation of a new “Domestic Terrorism Unit” by the Biden administration’s Department of Justice and the FBI, and how the federal government and the LAPD coopt the fight against white supremacy to create more surveillance programs that target Black and Indigenous communities. Using the outrage spurred by the January 6th attack on the Capitol building, the federal government has been ramping up its surveillance infrastructure, but now they are admitting that a primary focus will be combating “anti-government” and “anarchist” extremists. We will discuss how the LAPD is trying to similarly expand a counterterrorism surveillance program called PATHE, headed by the cop who led the surveillance of protestors in the George Floyd uprisings, and is developing shadow teams to infiltrate similar political movements in the future as well. From the local to the federal level, we will resist the attempts by law enforcement to infiltrate and neutralize our movements. Join the fight!
