Join us Tuesday January 25th at 6pm as we continue Part 2 of Stop LAPD Spying Coalition’s online series of community conversations for collective learning, analysis, sharing, and building on our report Automating Banishment: The Surveillance and Policing of Looted Land. Two weeks ago, we began our discussion of Part 2, in which we considered the formalization and expansion of data-driven policing in Los Angeles, and the political conditions in which it was introduced. We also talked about some of the tactics of LAPD’s data gathering, and how this impacts people and communities. This Tuesday, we will talk more about the specific programs of LAPD’s Predictive Policing, and how they sanitize and encourage racial profiling. Join us in conversation and to build power in our fight!
