Join us to discuss how to use research tools like the California Public Records Act (CPRA) to expose police harm, uplift community expertise, and build resistance. We will discuss how we have used CPRA requests and lawsuits over the years, including against the Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) program, the LASER and PredPol predictive policing programs, LAPD’s broader architecture of surveillance, and academic complicity in police surveillance. We will also share some records we recently obtained through the CPRA to strategize together about how to use them. Join the fight!
