Join us for our monthly webinar for the fight against the War on Youth. This month we will discuss Stop LAPD Spying Coalition’s public records lawsuit against City Councilmember Paul Koretz over his refusal to respond to our requests for his communications with the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC). We will also speak to local organizers about SWC’s close ties to police, and how they’re entrenched in local schools.
We will also provide a teaser of the Coalition’s upcoming in-person conversation with the Brennan Center on LAPD’s burgeoning Social Media Surveillance practices On Tuesday May 17th at 6PM. We’ll look closely at one specific instance of LAPD using Social Media Surveillance to target youth organizers on a college campus. Lastly, we will discuss ADL’s comparison of the National Students for Justice in Palestine to far right white supremacist group, the Proud Boys, and how this connects with broader efforts to criminalize political organizing.
