Police Assault at Fusion Center – Meeting Reminder

SHUT DOWN THE SPY CENTERS! COMMUNITY ACTION LEADS TO FUSION CENTER LOCK DOWN
Police Attack National Lawyers Guild ED at Fusion Center in Norwalk, CA
On April 10, 2014 the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition organized a community action at the Los Angeles Area Fusion Center (Spy Center) in Norwalk, CA.  Several other cities around the country joined the coalition holding similar actions. The Coalition sent a community delegation inside the fusion center to submit a formal written demand on behalf of the coalition under the CA Public Records Act Request — CPRA, a law since 1968 that gives the people of CA the power “requiring inspection and/or disclosure of governmental records to the public upon request.”

The delegation was met with hostility, lies, denial of access to public office, and use of force and intimidation.  One member of the delegation, Jim Lafferty – Executive Director of the National Lawyers Guild, LA Chapter was forcefully removed from the entrance to the fusion center and the door was shut and locked in the face of the people.
