Greetings friends, check out what we’ve been up to:
On Saturday (9/9) the Coalition in partnership with UCLA Law organized an open house at LA CAN for community members to get acquainted with different organizations in Los Angeles.
On Sunday (9/10) the Community Policing Working Group was back in Nickerson Gardens for another round of outreach. We continued talking to community members about the LAPD’s CSP program.
On Tuesday (9/12) morning, the Coalition supported family members who had lost loved ones in Men’s Central Jail as they protested the Board of Supervisors, demanding the closure of MCJ.
Following that action we were at LAPD HQ, shouting down the Board of Police Commissioners as they continue to rubber stamp LAPD’s racist violence.
That evening we held our monthly War on Youth webinar, where we discussed our new LASAR Zine and the RICO indictments levied against Cop City protesters.
On Thursday’s (9/14) episode of Radio Insurrection we had an informative conversation with Nika Soon-Shiong about Los Angeles County’s pending contract with Accenture. You can listen to the episode at kpfk.org/archives.
