On Saturday 10/19:
The Coalition held our monthly youth day at Vista Hermosa Park. This month we discussed masks, and how and why the LAPD uses disguises.
On Tuesday 10/22:
The Coalition and our partners from Palestinian Youth Movement, Black Men Build, Liyang SoCal, and USC SCALE & SJP honored and commemorated O22, the National Day Against Police Violence. Attendees marched from LA CAN to the front of LAPD HQ where we heard from Brother Jay Burton, who is currently incarcerated and has been for 36 years.
On Thursday 10/24:
This week’s episode of Radio Insurrection featured guest host, Shakeer Rahman, covering for Hamid Khan. During this week’s episode we discussed LAPD’s new chief and the first amendment ramifications of Yaroslavsky and Blumenfield’s anti-protest motion. On Friday 10/25:
The Coalition held our monthly movie night. This month we exhibited two short’s from the 1995 horror anthology, Tales from the Hood.
