On Tuesday 7/2:
The Coalition held an action outside City Hall in response to a disgusting motion introduced by councilmembers Yaroslavsky and Blumenfield that would use city resources to deputize a private Zionist militia in response to pro-Palestinian protest. People power prevailed, the motion was watered down and continued for a future session. We’ll be there to fight back when it returns to city council.
That evening we held our monthly Gender and Sexuality community meeting where we discussed a report by the UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls report on how to “Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children”.
On Thursday 7/4:
This week’s episode of Radio Insurrection featured a conversation with our dear friend Shayla Myers demystifying the recent supreme court decision handed down on the Grants Pass case. The second half of the show featured a conversation with our very own Akhil Gopal where we discussed the previous Tuesday’s protest ad=nd the history of actions in support of Zionism perpetuated by the city. This weekend we got to celebrate our very own Akhil’s marriage to his wonderful wife, Lolly! Congratulations you two!
