WEEKLY UPDATE – July 14, 2023

Greetings friends, check out what we’ve been up to:

On Tuesday (7/11) the Coalition held our monthly War on Youth Webinar. This month we discussed new sophistications in LAPD youth surveillance, including implementation of the PATHE (Providing Alternatives to Hinder Extremism) program and the release of the LASAR (Los Angeles Schools Anonymous Reporting) app in LAUSD schools. We discussed some of the strategies underway to fight back against these programs.

On Thursday morning, the Coalition was in court arguing to have the city’s politically motivated attack on our website watchthewatchers.net. We are waiting on a written decision from the judge and will share the conclusion.

Additionally, on Thursday and Friday, we continued our internship with students from Fairfax High School. Students delved deeper into the Coalition’s report Before the Bullet Hits the Body, students also mapped out the facets of the Stalker State they experience in their daily lives.
