This past week at the Coalition, we attended the Board of Police Commissioners on 8/18 where we continued to expose them both for their report on SWAT, the continued lies about Automatic License Plate Readers, and new surveillance tech. Later that evening, we held our monthly general meeting where we talked about the history of Public Records Requests in our fights and how to file a PRA.
On Wednesday, we attended LA CAN’s Human and Civil Rights meeting, and held our committee meetings for our fight against Data Driven Policing. On Thursday 8/20, we held our fight against the War on Youth and the CDSC meeting. On Friday, we attended LA CAN’s Black August march where we got to honor the lives and legacies of those who have, and continue to fight for freedom!
On Saturday, we attended the Community Self Defense Coalition meeting, and we held our Youth Day in the Park at Elysian park where we read books, and continued to fly kites!
