This past week, the Coalition held our monthly Gender and Sexuality Community meeting on 8/4 where folks from LA CAN’s Downtown Women’s Action Coalition presented their Women’s Needs Assessment, including their demands!
On Wednesday, we attended LA CAN’s Human and Civil Rights meeting, and we had our Data Driven Policing Working Group meetings! On 8/6, we went to DWAC’s campaign meeting, and got the chance to do power mapping for various campaigns DWAC is fighting! Later that evening, we had our [Fight Against the] War on Youth working group meeting. On Friday, we met with folks from the People’s Kitchen Collective where we talked about our upcoming movie screening at movie night this month!
On Saturday, the Coalition went to a panel with Victoria Copeland titled “Dark Sousveillance * Community Resistance: Lessons from Skid Row.”
