This past week at Stop LAPD Spying, we attended the Board of Police Commissioners meeting that was subsequently canceled as we were in the room due to mic issues again. Later that evening on 7/21, we held our monthly General meeting where we talked through Flock updates, and well as our working groups, and the current political moment. On Wednesday 7/22, our Summer Youth Internship began! Throughout the next few days with the interns, we talked through the history of the Coalition, did a public records request workshop, project brainstorming, and other political education!
This week, we also held our bi-weekly Data Driven Policing Meeting to continue to talk through our fight against Flock Safety, our Gender and Sexuality group met, and we attended the Community Self Defense Coalition Meeting. On Saturday, we also had an extended meeting with our DDP working group to continue talking through the history of Data Driven Policing, the Coalition’s Fightback, and how we can build for the future!
