06/10:
On Tuesday, the Coalition attended City’s Council’s special meeting to hit them hard and expose them in the ways the city is expanding and honing their Real Time Crime Centers (RTCCs), Fusion Centers, and Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs). These information sharing weapons are used by ICE to abduct our community members, so we will continue to work to shut them down.
We also held our weekly War on Youth Meeting where we talked about SB 331 and the ways in which youth are criminalized, especially in this moment. We also talked about how to keep each other safe during this time, and some very basic first aid in response to tear gas etc.
06/13:
The Coalition attended LA CAN’s ROC meeting on Friday and connected with folks about how the riots have been impacting them. We also talked about the continued fightback that residents are engaged in and got to celebrate the incredible work of a few members!
06/14:
On Saturday, we did outreach in Nickerson Gardens and talked with folks about the Community Safety Partnerships (community policing) LAPD program.
Throughout the week, we also engaged in patrols and rapid response as the fight against ICE continues daily.
