This past week, the Coalition attended the Downtown Women’s Action Coalition Townhall. The presentation was on Tuesday March 31st, at USC, and included an art show, music, performances, and a panel! Later that week, we went to LA CAN’s Human and Civil Rights Meeting where we did outreach and interviews with folks about their experiences with sanitation and the sweeps.
On Thursday, we had our War on Youth Meeting, and on Friday April 3rd, we attended Students Deservers’ meeting to plan for the strikes happening on April 14th. We also had our monthly movie night on Friday where we watched Freedom Fields, a documentary that follows 3 Libyan women on the national soccer team just after the Arab Spring. On Saturday, we went to the Community Self Defense Coalition where we met to talk about May Day, a family day in the park, and much more! 🙂
