Join us on Tuesday, April 26th at 6pm as we continue our online series of community conversations for collective learning, analysis, sharing, and building on the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition’s report Automating Banishment: The Surveillance and Policing of Looted Land.
This Tuesday, we continue our discussion of Part 5-B of the report – Racial Terror and White Wealth in South Central, in which we examine the operationalization of data-driven policing in the historically Black neighborhoods of South Central LA, with a consideration of how LAPD’s “predictive policing” contributed to and continued the assault on Black autonomy in South Central and the concerted efforts by police and developers to banish Black LA. We’ll also share updates from our Community Policing Working Group and additional aspects of our fight, including on LAPD’s recent report on its After-Action Plan Implementation Six-Month Update. Join us in conversation and to build power in our fight!
