A coalition against the use of drones by the LAPD has launched a campaign against their use even though the LAPD isn’t using them.
The drones – or unmanned aerial vehicles – are actually in the possession of the FAA right now. Chief Beck says he wants the public’s input first. We’ll he’s getting it now. The group – Drone-Free LAPD – says the use of drones will violate privacy rights and add to an already heavily militarized LAPD.
The group is calling for a meeting with mayor Garcetti to voice their concerns.
