Drone- Free LAPD/ No Drones LA! COMMUNITY TOWN HALL
We have just over a week to go before the Saturday November 8th Community Town Hall on the LAPD Drone program! 
LAPD received two Draganflyer X6 Drones from Seattle Police Department in May 2014. Contrary to earlier statements by Mayor Garcetti and Chief Beck about seeking community input, the Drones are now in the possession of LAPDInspector General Alex Bustamante. On September 12th, Mayor Garcetti publicly reneged on his “commitment” to seek community input by endorsing AB 1327, a bill passed by California legislature authorizing the use of drones by law enforcement. The bill was vetoed by Governor Brown on September 29th.
The people of Los Angeles cannot sit by as LAPDcontinues in its quest for more militarization. LAPD has a long history of Mission Creep, and lies and deception. LAPD cannot be trusted. Its time for Angelenos to speak out against the use of Drones by LAPD.
Please join us at the Community Town Hall on Saturday November 8th, 2014. The Town Hall will take place at the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) from3:00pm to 5:00pm. CARECEN is located at 2845 W. 7th Street, Los Angeles CA 90005- Nearest Cross Streets Hoover Ave and 7th St.
