We have just a few days to go before Saturday, November 8th, when we have our Community Town Hall on the LAPD Drone program! Come out to our next Drone- FreeLAPD Campaign meeting and find out how to get involved and support the fight. There are a few days left to do outreach and get people to the town hall to weigh in on this very important issue.
It is now even more important that we act to stop these drones. Our own LA City Council just voted to instruct LAPD Commission to create criteria for policy on drones. The city plans to hold a series of public hearings to allow communities of LA to give feedback, and the policy is expected to be put into place by the end of the year.The proposed policies and protocols will be reviewed publicly by the police commission and the public will have opportunities to address the commission directly with their concerns.
