Community Meeting – Tuesday July 26th at 6PM
Join us this Tuesday July 26th at 6pm online as we discuss LAPD surveillance and how it is
expanding and being operationalized, often under the guise of community safety and community
policing. We’ll look at assessments from LAPD’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) sites,
what LAPD calls “Neighborhood Engagement Areas” and “Crime Prevention Through
Environmental Design” – join us as we look at LAPD’s own notes to see what they
recommended and how people are being surveilled.
We’ll also talk about 41.18, a cruel ordinance that criminalizes and harms unhoused folks and is
set to massively expand on Wednesday July 27th. 41.18 is one of numerous ways the city and
police create and expand banishment zones, all under the guise of public safety and community
policing – join us in conversation and to build power in our fight!
