This past week, the Coalition prepped for the Board of Police Commissioner’s with folks on Monday! We drafted talking points for public comment, and looked over the agenda together. The morning after on Tuesday 6/09, we attended the meeting itself! We made comment, and continued to fight back against Flock “Safety,” particularly as this may be one of the last meetings where they let us make public comment before LAPD’s contract with Flock expires.
Later that evening, we hosted Anakbayan LA to do a joint teach in together about their fight for justice for the Negros 19! Later that week, on Wednesday 6/10, we attended LA CAN’s HCR meeting, and then made public comment at the Public Safety meeting. On Thursday, we had our Gender and Sexuality working group meeting, and did rehearsal for LA CAN’s Freedom Now Celebration next week on 6/19!
Over the weekend, the Coalition went to the CSDC meeting, and then we tabled at LA State Historic, as well as SWOP LA’s incredible event! We got to chat with new folks, share our fight against Flock, and pass out zines 🙂
