This week, the Coalition attended the Board of Police Commissioner’s meeting on 5/5 where we held a press conference announcing our lawsuit against the city! LAPD is refusing the release records around their MOUs (Memorandums of Understandings) and other contracts between LAPD and Flock “Safety.” We also mad public comment demanding the end of any and all of their contracts because we know that Flock ALPR data is being used to criminalize and stalk us!
Later that evening, we held our monthly community meeting for Gender and Sexuality where we discussed May Day, but also feminized representations of Copaganda. On Wednesday 5/6, we attended LA CAN’s Human and Civil Rights meeting where we talked about our event later that week: showcasing Skid Row Resident’s stories and art! On Thursday evening, we went traveled across downtown to support LA CAN’s HCR showcase at the DTLA art walk, where Skid Row residents shared their stories.
