08/26:
This past Tuesday, the Coalition attended the Board of Police Commissioners meeting where we continued to expose them for Real Time Crime Centers and their ongoing grooming programs (via Community Safety Partnerships). That evening, we held our Data Driven Policing Community Meeting where we mapped out how our data is used to criminalize us, and dived further into Real Time Crime Centers and their use of data to hunt, track, and surveil.
08/27:
On Wednesday, we joined LA CAN’s Housing and Civil Rights meeting where we continued to talk about access to bathrooms in Skid Row.
08/28:
The Coalition attended a gender justice training with LA CAN on Thursday where we got to explore and talk about queer identity!
08/29:
On Friday, we held our monthly movie night where we watched The Pendleton 2, a documentary about John “Balagoon” Cole, and Christopher “Naeem” Trotter who are incarcerated after the 1985 Prison Uprising (at the Pendleton Correctional Facility) where they saved the life of their comrade, Lincoln “Lokmar” Love.
08/30:
On Saturday, the Coalition attended the Chicano Moratorium 55th Anniversary where we celebrated 55 years of resistance to ongoing state violence.
