This is a print from Mercado La Paloma that we saw after building with folks there on Thursday!
08/12:
On Tuesday, we held our monthly War on Youth Community meeting where we held a Back-to-School ICE Defense Training. After that, we watched short films of stories from Gaza created by animator Haneen Koraz, and “I am from Palestine” from Rifk Books which encapsulates a Diasporic experience in K-12 schools!
08/13:
The Coalition attended LA CAN’s Housing and Civil Rights Committee meeting on Wednesday where we continued to discuss policing in Skid Row and our fight back.
08:14:
On Thursday, we did rapid response/patrols due to the increased presence of ICE downtown, and later did outreach at schools in the area.
08/16:
The Coalition attended the Community Self-Defense Coalition meeting on Saturday and held our monthly Youth Day in the Park where we got to share the stories from Gaza with some young comrades while we did art and played a bit of soccer too!
