As we reflect on this, week we honor the 1992 Rebellion and the uprisings in 2020 as part of the lineage of riot that came before this moment. Riots and mass insurgency have been — and will always be — a righteous response to the social evils that have existed since the US Empire initiated its Settler Colonial Mission in these lands.
We celebrate the righteous defiance of our ancestors. Abolition is a war our people have been waging against slavers and colonizers for centuries. We are eager for the next inevitable surges of our resistance—and our assured, collective liberation.
