03/11:
On Tuesday, Coalition members went to the Board of Police Commissioners Meeting to honor the life of Linda Becerra-Moran, and to fight back against the continued racist, sexist, and homophobic comments and behavior that was recently re-exposed in an LA Times article relating to LAPD’s recruiting department.
That evening, we held our monthly War on Youth meeting where we met with a high school student club representative, and we continued to build out stickers and rhetoric against PATHE and LASAR — two programs that are descendants of Countering Violent Extremism.

On Thursday, we held our first Youth Meeting for the Community Self-Defense Coalition where we mapped out our goals and intentions for the group and the space in fighting against criminalization and deportation, and the ways Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) is deeply connected to the logics the state uses to justify deportations.

This Friday, Coalition members attended a vigil for Linda Becerra-Moran outside of LAPD Headquarters.

On Saturday, we held our monthly Youth Day in the Park where we met with students to make political buttons together!
