03/04:
This Tuesday, the Coalition attended the Board of Police Commissioners’ meeting where we read a letter condemning the use of Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs) and the way ALPRs share information between local and federal agencies. We also exposed the contradictions in the Sanctuary City Ordinance and the way it is a farce.
That evening, we held our monthly Gender and Sexuality Community Meeting where we honored Linda Becerra Moran, who was a trans sex worker murdered by LAPD. We talked about the continuing criminalization of sex workers and the insidious violences of the state — particularly the police and LAPD.
03/05:
On Wednesday, some Coalition members traveled to New York to attend a panel to condemn the use of body cameras and the harms of reform at large.
03/07:
In the morning on Friday, Stop LAPD Spying supported Black Men Build and #FreeJayBurton to rally and do court support for Jay Burton at the Compton Courthouse. Jay Burton was targeted by the white-supremacist LASD gang the Lynwood Vikings and has been in jail since he was 16 years old. He continues to fight for, and organize for his release, and the freedom of all political prisoners.

On Sunday morning, the Coalition attended the Community Self-Defense Coalition meeting as the fight against ICE continues! Hamid spoke at a press conference as well on Sunday to further expose the fallacy of the Sanctuary City Ordinance.
