Our Academic Complicity working group will present the draft of a new zine called Data Fixation. Data fixation is a term we’re using to describe people’s obsession with data as the solution to oppression, particularly when it comes to policing. This zine explores some of the political and material consequences of pretending that data can fix deeply rooted social and political challenges, highlighting various examples both from what we’ve seen in LA and beyond. Join us to discuss the draft and develop an organizing plan.
