On Saturday 11/23:
The Coalition assisted with LA CAN’s annual Women’s Wellness Retreat. The event was a major success with over 200 women from the community attending a day filled with pampering, power-building, and care.
On Sunday 11/24:
The Coalition’s Community Policing Working Group conducted our regular outreach.
On Tuesday 11/26:
On Tuesday morning the Coalition attended the Board of Police Commissioners meeting where we spoke out against LAPD’s acquisition of a drone.
That evening we held our monthly Data Driven Policing community meeting, where we discussed local efforts to legislate “sanctuary” cities in the current political landscape.
On Thursday 11/28:
This week’s episode of Radio Insurrection featured a conversation with DWAC organizers about the importance of LA CAN’s recent Women’s Wellness Retreat. You can listen to the episode at KPFK.org/archives
On Friday 11/29:
This month we unfortunately experienced difficulties that prevented us from exhibiting our monthly movie, but participants who came to the monthly movie night read the introduction and first part of Automating Banishment and had a collective conversation about the report.
